Final Project: Tour with Friends of the Public Garden

Today will begin our preparations for the program's final project, a tour that we will give of the Boston Common and Public Garden. To get us started, we will take a walk with Henry Lee, the president of Friends of the Public Garden, an organization which assists the city of Boston with planting, park cleanup, tree pruning and park education on the grounds of the Common, the Public Garden and the Commonwealth Avenue Mall.

We'll meet at the Cathedral at our normal time and then meet Mr. Lee at 4:00 to begin our walk. He knows the parks inside and out so this is a opportunity for us to gather information from a great source. Come ready to ask questions, and please bring a notebook and something write with so you can take notes.

Homework

In order to make the most of our time with Mr. Lee, I'd like to you write down a few thing before you come on Thursday:

1) What do you think should be included in our tour our the Boston Common/Public Gardens? What in particular would you like to talk about or find out more about?

2) Think of three questions to ask Mr. Lee when we're on our tour, and be prepared to ask them. Please e-mail me your thoughts before Thursday and bring a copy of your questions so you don't forget what you want to ask.
